CIPB Website Named
Best Educational Resource

Washington DC -- Citizens for Independent Public Broadcasting's (CIPB) website, www.cipbonline.org, is one of the best educational resources available on the Web according to StudyWeb.

Since 1996, StudyWeb researchers have selected only the finest websites to be included in their listing of educational links. StudyWeb provides a detailed review of each site describing its editorial and visual merits.

CIPB's Webmaster, Alex Traugott said "CIPB's goal is to provide on-line tools for citizens and activists to reclaim our public airwaves and democratize public broadcasting."

CIPB acts as a clearinghouse for citizen involvement in public broadcasting, provides materials for local media activists, students and educators including a training manual How To Make Public Broadcasting Accountable To Your Community, a companion video Put The Public Back Into Public Broadcasting: If We Don't Do It Who Will in addition to the website.

CIPB is a national membership organization dedicated to putting the public back into public broadcasting. At the national level, CIPB is promoting an independently funded and publicly accountable Public Broadcasting Trust. At the community level, CIPB supports chapter initiatives to democratize programming on local public broadcasting stations.
